SUMMARY:9th INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL TRANSNASAL ENDOSCOPIC SURGERY: FROM SINUSES TO SKULL BASE
DESCRIPTION:Dear\, \nwe take the opportunity to bring to your attention the nineth edition of the \nINTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL \nTRANSNASAL ENDOSCOPIC SURGERY: FROM SINUSES TO SKULL BASE \nHANDS-ON Anatomy Laboratory and Live Surgery \nwhich will be held from June 5-9\, 2023 in Brescia\, Italy\, as attachment the save the date. \nAim of this course is to offer an overview of the applications of transnasal endoscopic surgery\, starting from simple procedures performed under local anesthesia to more extensive operations adopted for inflammatory disease\, benign and malignant sinonasal tumors\, sellar and parasellar lesions\, as well as other neoplastic and malformative skull base pathologies. \nThe course will provide a hands-on session\, followed by an interactive live surgery section. \nThe first three days will be dedicated to the endoscopic endonasal dissection of injected\, fresh frozen specimens. At the Gross Anatomy \nLaboratory of the University of Brescia each working station is complete of endoscopic skull base surgery equipment\, as well as CT-based navigation. Each participant\, two per each station\, will be supervised by one tutor to allow for a personalized tuition while observers will rotate on each station. Each step will be preceded by videos explained by the faculty members\, as well as demonstrations with 4K technology. \nThe following two days will be dedicated to live surgery\, with three running operating rooms\, in which different operations will be shown and discussed step by step. \nAs well as watching the operations from the connected meeting room\, participants and observers will have the chance of observing surgery directly in the OR.
